How do I stop sticky-note text disappearing in whiteboard

Those new to the Atlassian Community have posted less than three times. Give them a warm welcome!
Hi, I can see the text I'm adding to a sticky-notes on a whiteboard while editing that note, but when I click off that sticky it appears blank on my whiteboard. When I double click to edit, the text re-appears. This means that I can't actually read the stickies on my whiteboards. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
* to note, this is a relatively new thing and never used to be the case! It now occurs for all of my previous sticky notes that I used to be able to see.
