Has format of link created by "Share->Copy link" changed?

When one used to create a shareable link of a page using "Share -> Copy Link" option, it used to create an elegant cryptic link like follows: (All links are representative.)

https://getinsured.atlassian.net/l/cp/YxxxxxxxxD6v

However since last few weeks, we are getting a huge link like follows:

https://getinsured.atlassian.net/wiki/x/AYA_K?atlOrigin=eyfsefsfasdgfsdagdsagfdgdsggfdgsdagdsgdsgdfiYyJ9

Question:

Is this change intentional? The short link was very convenient. The atlOrigin parameter after "?" is redundant - why is it provided as part of the link?

Note: It appears that the new link format retains the property of remaining valid when the page is moved around, even when moved to another space.

Thank you.

Hi @Abhay Patil

I believe it has. Each time it changes, while it may have been planned, it's unexpected to the end users, and it takes a while to get used to it.  Sometimes, the change is helpful; other times, it's frustrating, much like my response.

I don't have answers to your specific and very valid question.

Slightly on topic, but not directly asked, I do recommend being on the Bundled release track, which somewhat limits the blast radius of unexpected changes.
