Hello,
we are using Confluence and sometimes need to invite customers (= external users) into a specific space to review / collaborate.
Until now, we invited them as regular users into Confluence and used different groups to limit their access to the designated space.
We just recently discovered the guest-feature and now we can see that this is what we should use for externals users. Out of not knowing this feature, we now have external users taking up licenses and would like to change that. The external users are currently still involved in their projects, so I don't want to delete them. I've read that it is not possible to convert existing users to guest (https://support.atlassian.com/confluence-cloud/docs/assign-space-access-to-guests/).
Any ideas how to proceed?
Thanks in advance!
You cannot invite a user, current or past as a guest.
@Trudy Claspill answered this well last winter here:

You could create new accounts for them, but I believe you'd need a secondary email address for the guest.
