Using Confluence 8.5.17.

When I insert the Excerpt macro into my page (in a tab), there is no field for "Excerpt name". When i click edit there is no option for "Excerpt name".

How do I edit the name so I can use "Inserpt Excerpt" on a different page?

Thank you.

Hi @James Dossett ,

Just to add on Humashankar answer (+ note that it's 'other way around' > Data Center edition lacks this excerpt name feature), here's a suggestion on JAC regarding mentioned functionality for DC: CONFSERVER-34576: Include excerpt macro should be possible to select an excerpt from the page

I don't have any DC instance at the moment so I could try out some workarounds for this :/

Cheers,
Tobi

Hi @James Dossett

In Confluence Cloud, the Excerpt macro has a notable limitation - it lacks a field for assigning an "Excerpt Name."

This exclusion restricts your ability to reference multiple excerpts from a single page using the Excerpt Include macro.

Currently, the Excerpt macro in Confluence Cloud does not provide an option to assign a unique name to each excerpt, a feature that is available in the Server and Data Center editions.

Hope this helps - Happy to help further!!
Thank you very much and have a great one!
Warm regards

Thank you for the information. Is there any other way to take a portion of a page and display it on another page?
