Hi,
I have enabled simple workflow in my space. Am using Confluence 5.9.2 with the Scroll Version and Viewport plugins.
My understanding is that enabling the workflow will ensure that only those pages with workflow status as "complete" gets published in viewport.
But I see that pages with workflow status as "draft"/"review" also gets published in viewport.
Is there a way where I can manage the publishing and only those pages with workflow status as "Complete" gets published in viewport?
Regards,
Bandy
Hi Bandy,
The simple workflow in Scroll Versions is used to track the state of the page content. It is a tooling to support your QA process and has only limited impact in publishing scenarios.
1) If you use Scroll Viewport to visualize different versions of a Scroll Versions space the workflow has no impact - all pages of a version will be accessible no matter which state they have
2) If you publish a single version to a new space you have an option to only publish (copy/create) completed pages.
As far as I understood you are referring to the 1st scenario. A best practise here is to use the workflow report functionality to see if all pages in a version are completed or not before making it available in viewport.
Hope this information helps,
Best, Tobias
Thanks Tobias.
Yes we ensuring the complete status of a page as of now since we are just starting to use viewport.
But, kindly note that we have a fairly big team and multiple authors (some technical people who create and store content in Confluence). The QA process is really useful in such a scenario to ensure quality documentation.
Any idea if this will be made available for Viewport publishing in near future?
Regards,
Bandana
