Confluence Space import from xml-backup fails with HibernateException

Vladimir Chernyakov June 24, 2014

Hi!

We need to complete this task:

-- move some space from one server to another. both servers have the same version of confluence. we trying to do it with standard "Backup&Restore" functionality. all looks perfect as a first approximation :)

We've got xml-backup of confluence space from source server (Parameters of confluence instance: version of confluence - 5.4.3, build - 4252).

We've got new server with the same version of confluence 5.4.3, but build number between servers doesn't match (our 4517).

We changed build number in xml-backup from 4252 to 4517. Otherwise an error is displayed

Both servers have the same set of groups.

In process of import new error is displayed:

com.atlassian.confluence.importexport.ImportExportException: Unable to complete import: Error while importing backup: Found two representations of same collection: com.atlassian.confluence.spaces.Space.permissions; nested exception is net.sf.hibernate.HibernateException: Found two representations of same collection: com.atlassian.confluence.spaces.Space.permissions

Any advice will be much appreciated.

Cheers.

Hi Nikolay,

The build number 4252 is related to confluence 5.1.5 as we can see here. the build number for 5.4.3 is 4732 and not 4517. I believe there is some misunderstanding in confluence versions and build numbers or the upgrade wasn't performed correctly before in those instances.

I recommend to double check if the build numbers match and just upload a xml backup from the same version to another same version.

Cheers,

Rodrigo
