Hello,
I'm trying to set up a database that will contain a list of functional requirements for our project. I've added an ID, a Category (e.g. GUI, Data Exchange, ...) a short description, a version (MVP, V1, V2, ...) a MoSCoW and a Page Link field.
The idea is to use the Page Link field to either point to an existing page, or if needed to automatically create a new page "Detailed Requirement" that includes the database entry macro.
This way we have a high level overview of requirements in the DB while we can detail the requirement in it's own page.
The options for page creation "Under fixed parent page" works like expected, but I can't figure out the functionality behind the other options: "Under dynamic..." and "Based on field value". The latter seems only enabled when the referenced database contains an external link to another database.
Anyone has any clue how this can work?
I would be most grateful.
Regards.

I would like to help, but I'm on the waiting list as the product is still in Beta.
I think its best to direct your question to Atlassian Support, as most community member probably don't have this Beta option for Confluence yet.

This is interesting. I'm not seeing some of these options at all when I select Page Link as a field type. I just have a fixed parent page I can select and the initial content select. Did you do anything special when selecting the field type?

Hi Sarah,
In the meantime Atlassian support helped me out on this. You can check this page for more info.

On a side note, I must say... It's an awkward way to set up.
You need another database that also has a page link field. And then in another database you can refer to that field. I understand the 'why' but in the end, I found it not useful for my case
In the meantime I ran into another issue while trying to adjust the column widths. This has been reported as a bug. In the case you would experience the same, you can watch this for follow-up:

Hope this helps
Regards,
J.

Does someone know what the status of this is today?
I even have a reference to a second database in my structure. The setup of the field only allows to select a static parent page though. And options for "dynamic" or "based on a field" don't exist.
The link to intercom.help seems dead to me at this time.

Yeah, I still don't have those options either, and they seem like they'd be really useful. I wonder if it's something they rolled back at some point because it wasn't working as intended? I hope they keep going with it, though. The current options are extremely limiting.
