Hi @Stephanie Hurt .
if you interested on a high qualtiy search solution for Confluence, iFinder Confluence Search is available at Atlassian Marketplace. It helps even the confluence user without expert knowledge to search quite intuitively.
With iFinder Confluence Search you can influence the order of the search results and define which content types should be listed with priority.
This enterprise search solution delivers top results based on linguistic analysis and offers many additional features.
Additional to the search UI, you can place the iFinder Search Macro on your Confluence site with your preconfigured search setting e.g. searching only in some spaces - this will match your request.

Does global search means quick search (the search bar on the top right) or advanced search ?
If it's quick search it's currently not possible and there is a feature request for that on Atlassian side.
