Companion app on Citrix environment

Hello, we are planning to update Confluence (Server) from 6.6.8 to 6.13. which would include the modified working with office documents via Companion.

Editing files in office is a crucial function for us. Many users are working through a Remote Desktop Service (Citrix). 

According to this documentation

the Companion App is not compatible with RDS/Citrix. Is that true? What can we do alternatively?

I can not tell you wheter the companion app is working with citrix, but there is a workaround for the companion app.
