Hello,

I got a request to search for some kind of forum solution in confluence. I tried with Community Bubbles but I am confused about how to get it to work.

On the doc at http://www.adaptavist.com/display/Bubbles/forum+macro it says:

Simply place it on a page and all child pages will be treated as topics in the forum.

I did that but it only shows the empty structure for the forum and a message:

There are no topics in this forum.

I know that Bubbles is deprecated but since I could include it on the page I assumed it should be working.

So in short: Should it still work? Am I missing something or doing something wrong?

I could solve my problem. The forum is now working. When I set it up I just chose some wrong option causing it to not display anything.

Hi Steffen,

Please accept my apology for the late reply. We recently deprecated Community Bubbles however we replaced Community Bubbles with Community Forums, available for Confluence 5.x which incorporates the forum functionality from bubbles. Community Forums is a fully commercial offering covered by our SLA and a product roadmap behind it which we're developing in conjunction with our customers.

We also recently launched Community Forums 2 (available for Confluence 5.4+) which uses a new architecture and provides you with a series of new and improved features, making it much easier to create and manage your forums as well as giving you access to features such as searching/filtering topics. For a full list of features please check out our documentation.

If you're currently using Community Bubbles, you can follow our upgrade guide to move to the latest Community Forums macros.

We'd be interested to hear what you think of the latest Community Forums so please do feel free to contact us via our contact form.

Kind Regards,

Hessom

Hi Steffen,

I could see that the plugin was archived in Atlassian Marketplace: https://marketplace.atlassian.com/archive/com.adaptavist.confluence.bubbles

The latest version supported appearing there is for Confluence 5.1.5 so probably it was deprecated.

I suggest to get in touch with the Adaptavist support team so they can clarify the current situation.

Cheers,

Rodrigo

Hi Steffen,

Perhaps this is a modern solution for you? :)

Microblogging for Confluence allows for a seamless and direct exchange of information with your team directly in the collaboration system.

Just like Twitter and Facebook, a microblog in your own Confluence enables short, spontaneous communication and quick distribution of information without switching context and media - directly in Confluence with all it's comfortable features.

You can try it here:
