Cannot publish new pages on confluence cloud.

I get the following error when trying to publish new pages.

Unable to communicate with server. Saving is not possible at the moment.

I have read that this is a problem with collaborative editing. But under my admininistration -> general configuration (or anywhere else under admin), I don't see anywhere to turn this off.

I have also tried the suggestion to disable it using curl, but I get the following error.

242Basic auth with password is not allowed on this instance

This is the cloud version of Confluence, so shouldn't this all just work?

Perhaps at the time of this incident there was indeed an incident with Confluence cloud, which affected a lot of customers, including you. You can view and subscribes to updates using this link https://confluence.status.atlassian.com/
