Can't seem to delete an invited user or resend an invite

Adrian Simpson October 8, 2024

We were at 10 users on our free account, when one of our admins sent an invite to a new user.

unfortunately that new user did not have an email address set up at that time.

I can't find a way to remove the user or resend the invite.

anyone got any ideas?

Hi @Adrian Simpson ,

Welcome to the community,

You can remove the user by Going to Admin settings by clicking on the gear icon (⚙️) and select User management.

Navigate to the Users section. There, you should see a list of all users, including those who were invited but haven’t accepted their invitation.

In the Users section, find the user with the pending invite. select Remove

After removing, re-invite them once their email is set up.

Hope this helps!

thanks for taking the time to reply Teresa.

unfortunately it does not help. Our Users were all invited via our 'free' account. When we went to User Management, it said I did not have access.

We proceeded to pay for a 11 user account and it asked me to enter the 'company' name, which I did.

but it created a company without any users. None of our Confluence 'Free" account users were moved to the new paid for account.

As a complete newbie, I am quite lost as how to proceed. In Confluence I can still see a subset of some users who have been using it in the 'free' mode, but cannot change or delete any of those, and in this new paid for and 'linked' account, there are no users to manage.

:(

=>  Only an Org Admin can access User Management. The admin will need to remove users from the free account and re-invite them to the paid account. If you're not the admin, please contact the one in your organization to assist.

=> It sounds like the upgrade created a new company setup without migrating users from the free account. To move users to the paid account, an Org Admin will need to remove them from the free account and re-invite them to the new paid account manually. If needed, Confluence Support can assist with the migration process.

@Adrian Simpson When another person with admin rights in our Free plan added a user that put us over the 10-user limit, our site automatically changed to a Standard plan that we were charged for. I didn't even know it had happened until I went to add another user myself a couple months later.

From your description, it sounds like you have somehow ended up with 2 sites. As @Teresa_DevSamurai mentioned, I think you should contact Atlassian Support to help you sort it out.
