Hi
We do have troubles with iE 11 on Windows 7. The browser doesn't recognize the already installed Atlassian Companion app. And as we're not allowed to download and install any third party programm the function is useless. Is there anything that could be checked to know why it doesn't recognize the existence of the app? Or can the function be disabled completely?
It's working ok with Chrome and Firefox but we're forced to use iE 11.
Hi Andrea,
To confirm, you did indeed install the Companion app, correct? It seems like you did but then you mentioned you cannot install any 3rd party programs so I want to understand the situation completely.
What error exactly does IE 11 give you when you try to edit a document with the Companion App?
Regards,
Shannon
Hi Shannon
I'm responsible for the update and testing of the new Release and therefore I'm having the permission to install third party software but not downloading it over iE. The Atlassian Companion app works fine with other browsers like Chrome and Firefox. So it isn't an installation issue. What we found out, also another user https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Confluence-questions/Confluence-Atlassian-Companion-App-Not-Launching-Applications/qaq-p/868082?utm_campaign=&utm_content=post&utm_medium=email&utm_source=atlcomm#U871815, it must be a SSL Proxy issue. There is no way for us to use Confluence without proxy or with another browser than iE 11. So it has to be working in this combination.
Here you can see how it looks. There isn't any error but it always asks to download the software.
Any help would be very appreciated, but I assume I have to open a ticket for this anyway.
Regards,
Andrea

Andrea,
Thank you for letting me know you were able to find that information.
I've gone ahead and created a support ticket for this issue so we can obtain details from you and look into it.
It will be assigned to an engineer shortly, but feel free to reply now to that thread with any details you can about your proxy, SSL information, etc. as well as a copy of your Support Zip.

Shannon

Has there been any solution to this?
We're having the same issue with Confluence 6.13.5 and IE when Confluence is behind Apache.

Hello Francis,
It appears that this issue wasn't resolved in the end, and Andrea postponed working on it further, perhaps to a later date. If you're having the same issue, please raise a support ticket. Include your Support Zip and refer to this thread.
Thank you for your help!

Shannon
