Anyone have shibboleth and delegated LDAP working

Scott Hall February 27, 2013

I have a confluence 3.5.17 installation that needs to grab users and groups from LDAP and use SSO via the shibboleth authentication plugin.

I have users and groups coming over fine using a extneral (delegated "copy user on first log in, synchronize groups") Generic LDAP directory configuration.

But when I use shibboleth only the users REMOTE_USER gets copied into the directory. NOte that my iDP does not provide group info for users.

So I guess I'm looking for a way to authenticate via shibboleth and then query ldap to user and group info for the internal directory.

Any clues would be appreciated!

Scott

By the way this turns out to be possible but only if you can expose your group(s) in an attribute via the IdP. And then it is somehwat limited. We are pursuing a solution using full synchronization of LDAP or writing a custom authenticator serpah class.
