Just to ask - why aren't you using the Migration Assistant?
Would likely make this issue redundant.

You must be a registered user to add a comment. If you've already registered, sign in. Otherwise, register and sign in.
But even with a small number of items to migrate, XML seems to cause other issues.
I'd recommend migration assistance here.

I'm not sure what else you'd like me to suggest - the Migration Assistant should resolve this issue.

Tell us what kind of problems it causes.

This was in recognition of your original question - this page states...
The space export XML will not import users, groups, or group memberships to your destination Cloud site. This means that if there are pages that are restricted to these users or groups, you may not be able to see them until you recreate these users and groups in your destination site.
...so if you are going to do this, I would certainly test it first.

That page also states...
We highly recommend using the Confluence Cloud Migration Assistant when migrating from Server to Cloud.
As does this page (linked from the previous page)...
This document is specific to importing a Confluence space from one cloud site to another cloud site. To migrate a space from Confluence Data Center to a cloud site, we recommend using the Confluence Cloud Migration Assistant.
