Hi there! I’m David Olive, a Product Manager focused on integrations between Confluence and Jira. Today, we’re introducing side-by-side viewing of Confluence content and work items in Jira!
When working in Jira you can now view linked Confluence pages and whiteboards in a new side-by-side mode. This improvement gives you the ability to reference and edit your Confluence plans and documentation as you work through or update your Jira work items – all within the same workspace, bringing you enhanced efficiency as you work with both tools.
Whether you’re checking requirements or making updates to a related page, this new feature will make it easier to view and edit all the relevant documentation you need from Confluence inside of Jira, without having to open a new tab or lose context.
Take a look at the GIF below for a visual guide on getting started
Open a full Jira issue view: Choose any Jira work item and open it in a full issue view mode.
Click on any item under Confluence content: Navigate to the “Confluence content” section of the Issue and click on any linked Confluence page or whiteboard. If there isn’t any content listed, you can learn more about linking Confluence content here!
Utilize the new view: You’ll now see the linked Confluence page or whiteboard in the new side-by-side view. You can edit and even expand to a modal view if you need more space.
Most customers should see these changes within Jira over the next few weeks!
Note: To get started, you’ll need to have Jira —try it for free.

Happy integrating! 🚀
