What is that whiteboard feature that needs improvement?

Well,

I have a lot of good things to say about whiteboards, but still I think that their limitations are a lot. So what makes my day difficult is the lack of shapes variety. Maybe I'm used to draw.io which is an app designed for that specific reason, but I would love if Atlassian could bring a lot of updates about whiteboards!

So what is this feature in whiteboards which you think needs the most improvement and would have a trumendous impact on how we use it in a daily basis?

I think having a drawing feature available on an iPad app would make it a lot more useful in my case. Also, I would love to have the Standard plan get more than 3 boards. ;)

Having the stadard plan with 3 whiteboards per user, was a downgrade in my opinion as well. A real bummer :/

I'm with  Amanda and Alex,

3 boards per user with standard plan is the most user-unfriendly thing I've seen to date in the Atlassian portfolio.

Wouldn't be half so bad if the user could activate and deactivate how they see fit.

Needed

  1. Ability to create whiteboard custom templates
  2. Ability to apply any link to any object
  3. Ability to upload custom art to the stickers or stamps menu so that they are available globally
  4. Ability to draw on the screen

This would get me going quite nicely!

Thanks

I agree that not being able to create links is very limiting

We currently use Miro for whiteboarding, at the moment the lack of shapes and links is stopping us from even considering switching to using whiteboards.

  • 3 whiteboard restriction with no control over it
  • Lack of ability to export it / embed in other pages as an excerpt

Currently sticking with Miro for whiteboards until it becomes a useful tool.  currently feels like it has really good potential, but suffers from not being fully formed and controlled by a pure money generating licensing model.

1. Arrow and connector´s modifying.

2. Photo crop.

3. Element borders on and off

4. Jira issues with specific fields shown in the whiteboard.

5. More colors available for shapes, such as black.

For us, the lack of external collaboration is the biggest downside and the main reason we've not switched completely from Miro.

We often work with customers and they need to be able to edit on these whiteboards and not just view (which is a newly available feature).

Also, a lot of our Agile colleagues are missing Moderator features.

We dropped Miro for Confluence Whiteboards. We later realized there was not Table feature, which is the main thing we need in our group, so we have virtually stopped whiteboarding altogether.

Is there some roadmap somewhere that we can see what planned features might be coming up for us sometime down the road?

I see these periodic queries for input from the product team, but no indication that any of the ideas shared here might make it in to the product.

I agree, the lack of shape variety can be limiting! I think improving custom shapes and templates would make the biggest impact.

Exporting a whiteboard as PDF:  When exporting a Confluence Whiteboard as a PDF, the hyperlinks on the board are not Clickable. Infact I can't even select and copy the plain text. It's not an OCR enabled PDF.  This is a bug in my opinion and should be prioritized instead of other good-to-have features.
