Is there a nice way of mentioning/tagging team members, except comments

I want to add team members on a board, but:

  1. I don't want to add a comment to mention them
  2. I want to have a bit more flexibility than just a (hyperlik) card

It would be nice if you can mention a team or user on a board and see only their avatar on the board

Hi @Armand van der Merwe

Sadly you don't have many options. For whiteboards, you'll only be notified of mentions or replies in comments.

Please do add an improvement here for whiteboards:

I'm not quite sure of the outcome you want to achieve?

Are you are talking about `sharing` the entire whiteboard to someone? If that's the case, copy the URL to the page, or a link to a specific component or section and send them an email to that link. Why would this not work?

Or are you more talking about "adding team members" to the board from a security viewpoint?

None of the above.

The outcome: I want to have a visual way of showing which people (or even teams) will be assigned to what ticket (before we convert to it Jira issues).

Or when we set up a structure/team assignment - I want to add the user to a swimlane without manually typing their name, but to actually insert a smartlink to their profile.

I just paste small photos into my board, then have the team members copy their photo and drag it to any cards they take ownership of.

To make it easier to find a photo, I have a Frame/Section to describe the team. In that I have a small card with any other info such as links to their profile, their communication preferences. For people new to the board they can then match the photos to names.

I usually sit this "meet the team" next to my Vision / Goal block above our work breakdown or kanban board.

I recall a study done a while ago that suggested real life photograph avatars result in people taking more ownership over cartoon avatars.
