We are looking into possible solutions for an easy-to-manage Glossary for the whole company. Databases seem ideal since adding entries is easy, we have the option to add synonyms and related terms, and new entries can be sorted into alphabetical order automatically.
However, we expect that people will rely on the "Ask AI" feature to search for terminology. From my tests, it seems like information from the Databases is never retrieved. Is there a way to change that?
Hey Joana
My name is Melek and the CPO of Vectors. Until August 2024 and from what I know Database data is not *yet* accessible via API or other mechanism.
I've been landing here as you're searching for a Glossary Use Case and we are provider of on the leading Apps related to Glossary management in Confluence in the Marketplace.
I was curious if you gave it a try! Because when you are using our App, you can rely on a out of the box highlight terms mechanism within pages so if you define terms in you glossary in current space or in other spaces, with just one click defined terms (exact word or synonym or abbreviation) will be highlighted and you will get the definition of that term as following:
When using the AI, you can not totally control the definition that will be returned as it's a mix of learning from content in Confluence or other. So maybe defining your terms somewhere and using an in App find mechanism can be more coherent.
Hope this answer help in crafting your solution :)
