The new confluence editor

ian_wermerling May 19, 2019

The cloud instance I use at work seems to use the new confluence editor when I created a team space.

But my personal instance of confluence cloud uses the old editor when I create a new team space.

Is there a setting where I can choose to use the new editor or not?

Because the new editor feels like it has issues.

Or can anyone explain how the two cloud instances are behaving differently?

Hi @ian_wermerling

https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Confluence-discussions/Try-out-the-new-editing-experience/td-p/1000813 indicates that the new editor is being gradually rolled out, so one of your instances has, and one has not yet got the change.

https://confluence.atlassian.com/confcloud/confluence-editing-improvements-945107733.html also has some notes about how to opt in for the new editor.

unsure if you’re able to opt out though - on my phone so difficult to search

There is unfortunately appears to be no way to opt out once they have rolled you on to the new editor.  We migrated to the cloud and are stuck with it and have to copy old pages that use the old editor if we want to use full width on pages.

Honestly the biggest issue is the width of the pages for us, which creates cascading problems with page properties macros getting squished etc...  there are some nice stuff in it but its hard to get past the narrow width which frustrates everyone to no end.
