Weekly Wonder: CUG Questions Unleashed

Hi CUG members!

We are excited to introduce our new Weekly Wonder series. This will be a weekly post that highlights any questions you have regarding developing or engaging your organization's Company User Group, so members can share their insights, expertise, and solutions. Let's collaborate and unleash the collective wisdom of our CUG community! 

To kick things off, we have a question from one of our CUG Leaders:

“How do you begin to plan CUG meetings for thousands of Jira and Confluence users who have skill sets that range from beginner to advanced?”

This is a common challenge, and we want to hear your thoughts!

• How do you tailor your meetings to cater to such diverse skill levels?
• What strategies have you found effective in engaging beginners to advanced users?

I generally don't try to paint everyone with a broad stroke. Not every CUG meeting is for every type of user. Our users fall into three categories:

1. Beginner
2. Advanced
3. Admin

Any CUG, or internal meeting related to the Atlassian product suite, will specify who the target audience is. Anyone can join any meeting, but in order to set proper expectations for the meetings we find that it is important to note the 'level' of conversation that will be taking place.
