Mentor identity: The how and the why

Time for our weekly discussion!

Today, we're talking about that special person who who motivated you to host CUG events at your company, as well as the why. They can be a friend, family member, colleague or someone you spoke to just once.

This past week, I had the chance to attend CMX Summit with coworkers and a whole bunch of other people from across the community in the San Francisco Bay area. Everyone I met was quick to name a mentor or advisor who had helped them in their career or spurred them on to host events at their own company.

It made me wonder: Who's your mentor, what are they like, and how did they get you excited about hosting CUGs at your own company? We'd love to hear all about them!
