Our last update for 2021! And thanks to everyone for participating in the beta this year. It's been so great getting to know you all through this program! Here's what's on deck for the end of the year and beyond.
New: For anyone who enjoys contests, we now have an Atlassian Community Contests group that's worth a join! The year in review post gives a good overview of our 2021 contests and of course we have more coming in 2022. So stay in the know by joining and subscribing to that group (and keeping an eye on your kudos challenges, of course).
Coming soon: We've got a lot of amazing stuff on deck for the new year, including an improved kudos search (🎉); a special challenge for members only, set by our Leaders; and other new badges and challenges - and even new community functionality. We're excited!
Known issue: Some users have been experiencing some delays in getting their points or times where their activity is not being logged correctly. Sometimes the issue is with the way a challenge is configured, other times it seems to be a random delay or blip in our data. We're looking into this but due to the holiday, this may continue through the new year. In order to troubleshoot:
Later today I will release a special badge that will give some bonus daily points until this issue is resolved. Keep an eye out for that!
Leaderboard rollover: Remember the quarterly leaderboard rolls over on December 31! The "Leader of the Pack" badge and 500 points will be awarded to anyone who hits 5000 points or more by December 31. (Shoutout to @Hakeem Olasupo who just hit exactly 5000.)
Was the kudos program your gateway to the Atlassian Community this year? If so, I would love to hear about it in the comments. I've had so much fun with this program this year and look forward to making it better, more fun, more reliable, and more amazing in 2022.
Happy new year!
@Andy Gladstone I already got mine today and I didn't even notice! 😂
For those who haven't seen it, the Pardon Our Dust badge will get you 25 extra points per day and is triggered after 5 pageviews:
Thank you for the feedback about following! That is something we really want to add to the community experience and it's good to know how you would use it. We tried some creative workarounds this year but ran into technical blockers. High hopes for 2022 though!
@Monique vdB I will piggy back on what @Andy Gladstone said. The Kudos program has me coming back nearly every day. I find I am contributing more and in exciting ways. Not to mention, a pretty nifty "Atlassian ugly Sweatshirt" for Christmas with bombas socks!
I especially loved the holiday fun!
I look forward to the new year.
Cheers, fellow community kudos players,
I just realized I had adblock enabled on the community so I've gone ahead and whitelisted it :)
Awesome, you definitely won't regret it 🤣
Hi @Monique vdB
Yes, the Kudos program has been great!
Completing the daily challenges and acquiring new badges helps you discover new information in the community.
Cheers,
Fabian
Thanks for sharing these updates, @Monique vdB !
I love the Kudos program! It is a great way to get involved with the Community.
Thanks for sharing @Monique vdB
The kudos program has been very enriching ;o)
The kudos program has definitely encouraged me to spend more time in the community, along with all the giveaways! Plus everyone is super helpful and friendly here :)
I enjoy the kudos program A LOT! Thank you @Monique vdB and everyone on the kudos team for putting so much heart, effort and ideas into this. The Atlassian Community is really fun and one of a kind.
I'm also very thankful for the e-mail with the stats that came in a couple days before New Years eve. My goal for 2022: to top the achievements from 2021.
So excited for the new year, alls the updates and again: THANK YOU 💙 for shaping this community.
