Play-Doh Atlassian Celebration Cake

Edited

How the Atlassian-themed recipe was selected

Jackie, an Atlassian TAM, also works at the Barbie Cakeshop. Selecting a two-tier celebration cake was an obvious choice for her. Ken, a solution partner from Expium, was excited to help.Gettingstarted.jpg

Recipe:

Tips: Play-Doh was used in this recipe, but you can use whatever soft modeling dough you have on hand.

  1. Using the Barbie cake oven insert, roll a Play-Doh ball just larger than the cake insert.
  2. Smash the dough-ball down with the included cake-smoothing tool. See how here.
  3. Place the insert back into the Barbie cake oven.
  4. Pull the lever and watch the cake rise.
  5. Decorate the cake. For this Atlassian celebration cake, it was critical for the Ace Logo to be featured prominently at the top.

Highs & Lows

  • The dark blue and white Play-Doh were dried out. Jackie and Ken decided hot pink and turquoise looked great together.
  • The first Ace logo created was smooshed in an accident while the cake layers were being prepared. Dream team, Jackie and Ken, whipped up a replacement in no time.
  • Years of training creating Play-Doh worms helped when creating the decoration for the top layer of the cake. Creating the turquoise stripe decoration proved easy for the pair.Final.jpg
