Hello @adas1 ,

thank you for reaching out to Community!

I see you have also opened a support ticket with this question, and just sharing the resolution here, the reason why you are being required to use the VPN to access Bitbucket is because your company has enabled the IP allow listing feature in your Bitbucket workspace. This feature only allows access to the IPs provided in that list.

The IPs of your company VPN are likely in that list of allowed IPs, while your home network IPs are not. This is why you are only able to access through the VPN.

If you would like to access directly from the home network, you have the option to either:

  • Disable IP allow listing in the workspace - this would allow users to access the workspace from any IP address.
  • Include your home network IP address in the IP allowlist - this would allow you to connect from your home network. It's important that your home ISP provides a fixed IP address; otherwise, if your ISP provides dynamic IP, the IP will change from time to time, and you will need to keep updating the IP allowlist in the workspace.

Should you have any questions, let us know!

Thank you, @adas1 !
