Why does the REST API not return my avatar address?

When accessing the REST API 2.0, the avatar href for user accounts points to images of initials, not the image that was uploaded by the user. For example:

POST https://api.bitbucket.org/2.0/user

returns the following avatar href:

https://avatar-management--avatars.us-west-2.prod.public.atl-paas.net/initials/PS-2.png

I see a picture of myself when I log into Bitbucket but not here. The same is true of other users in my workspace.

Any ideas?

@Pete_Smith Im also getting from that request a default image not the updated image (that I saw on bitbucket site they taking the avatar from atlassian api instead)

how can I get the updated one? is there an open ticket for bb?
