Username already exists revisited

Hi, I'm logged into my Atlassian account, but I can't access Bitbucket (haven't used it in a while). I keep getting the error message "A user with that username already exists." I can see the repository here: https://bitbucket.org/shirkworx/. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi @Mike Shirk and welcome to the community.

The prompt to create a username shows up when there is no Bitbucket Cloud account with the email you logged in as a primary email.

If you don't remember what is the primary email of your Bitbucket account, I would suggest trying to log in to https://bitbucket.org/ with any of the other email addresses you own, and see if you get access to your account. If you get prompted to create a username when trying to log in with a certain email, this means that there is no Bitbucket account with that email as primary, so you can skip the process for that email. You can use the following link if you don't remember the password and need to request a password reset email: https://id.atlassian.com/login/resetpassword

Kind regards,
Theodora

Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

If the account already exists, you don't need to create it again.  Try the "return to log in" and then log in with the account (there's a "forgot password" link on the login screen if you need it)
