I can't create a repository

jang shin August 24, 2023

I logged in and created a repository following directions.

There is no error message or any other message, just displays the create repository page again.

The company joined to test at first as free with 5 members only.

Any specific step is required to create a repository?

Hi @jang shin,

Welcome to the community.

Would it be possible for you to try to create a repository following the steps below?

  • Go to your workspace https://bitbucket.org/workspace_id/
  • Click the "Create" dropdown at the top
  • Click Repository
  • Select a project
  • Input a repository name
  • Last, click Create repository

Thanks and let me know how it goes.

Regards,
Mark C

Thanks, Mark.

The real problem was that the admin didn't give me permission.

Is there a way to notice it is a permission issue?

Hi @jang shin

Ideally, you shouldn't be able to access the repository creation page if you don't have access to create a repository.

Would it be possible for you to provide the URL where you're trying to create a new repository?
Note: You can mask the workspace ID in the URL before providing it here

Hi Mark,

Thanks for your help.

Here is the URL. I changed the company's name.

This is the first time setup in the company.

I told to IT admin, and he said that it may be permission issue, then it was fixed.

Hi @jang shin,

Thanks for providing the URL.

Based on my testing, if you don't have access to a workspace, you'll get the page error message "You do not have access to view this workspace." when you access that link.

What you may have experienced could be a bug or caching issue about permissions.
If you happen to experience the issue again, kindly report it back to us with some replication steps and we'll investigate it further and/or raise a bug request.

Regards,
Mark C
