How to delete an old Mercurial repository

ggap August 26, 2020

Bitbucket no longer supports Mercurial project. We cannot access either the repository or project settings to remove project or repository using the bitbucket dashboard

Is there a way to delete an old mercurial repository ? Thanks.

Hi everyone,

Atlassian made a decision to move away from maintaining and supporting Mercurial repositories in 2019.

This was announced in community:

and on our blog:

Bitbucket Cloud Support team is no longer able to restore those repositories.

If you are looking for a Mercurial repository that was public, all the public repos were archived by Software Heritage:

We will not be able to meet any further requests for recovery of private HG repositories and users will need to recover those from local copies only.

Kind regards,
Theodora

Hi @ggap, thanks for reaching out!

At the moment it's not possible for end-users to remove Mercurial repositories. If you'd like any of your Mercurial repositories deleted, please submit a ticket through our Support portal and we'll help you with the removal.

Best regards,

Ana
