I used my Microsoft account to sign up for BitBucket, but now I need a password so that I can download repositories. How do I add a password to my Atlassian account?
(I can login just fine; I just don't have a password.)
You can create an App Password specific to git operations or whatever permissions you need. Here is the documentation: https://support.atlassian.com/bitbucket-cloud/docs/app-passwords/
That worked, thanks! Both cloning locally, and cloning to a new BB workspace worked. Using the same username for multiple credential pairs is weird, but effective.
