Hi, i want to clone bitbucket repository to a folder lacated in ubuntu sever but i am getting the folllowing error : remote: Bitbucket Cloud recently stopped supporting account passwords for Git authentication.
remote: See our community post for more details: https://atlassian.community/t5/x/x/ba-p/1948231
remote: App passwords are recommended for most use cases and can be created in your Personal settings:
remote: https://bitbucket.org/account/settings/app-passwords/
fatal: Authentication failed for 'https://username@bitbucket.org. Any idea ?
Thanks
Hey @Mahamadou
Welcome to the community.
The error means you are authenticating with your account password, which we no longer accept, as mentioned in our blog here.
The Workaround is to use App Passwords as your password authentication credentials instead of your Atlassian account password.
I hope this helps.
Cheers,
Syahrul
