Do Bitbucket required different 2FA key other than that of Atlassian? As my Atlassian key is not working for BItbucket login. I think i have lost the Bitbucket secret key and authentication app is not working.
Now i am not able to login the bitbucket. I have already clicked on Forgot Code option but instead of receiving the recovery mail, i am getting predefined message that stats someone will connect in next 24 hours. It's a very long time duration for providing the recovery mail for my acccount.
Hi Rajat and welcome to the community!
Bitbucket 2FA is indeed different from Atlassian account 2FA. Bitbucket Cloud uses Atlassian accounts (the ones for https://id.atlassian.com/) for authentication. At the moment, it is possible to set up 2FA:
The 2FA codes for Bitbucket won't work for Atlassian 2FA and vice versa. If you have 2FA enabled on both, there should be two accounts on your authenticator app, one that generates the Atlassian account codes and another one for the Bitbucket codes.
If your authenticator app no longer has an account that generates Bitbucket codes, then the recovery process should be followed and the 2FA recovery email will be sent to you 24 hours after you request it. I'm afraid that we cannot expedite the 2FA recovery process.
I checked our logs and I saw that the 2FA recovery email was sent on 15th February 2025. Were you able to regain access to your account via this email?
Kind regards,
Theodora
