Are mp4 files supported on a static website

I published a website using the instructions on the "Publishing a Website on Bitbucket Cloud" page. I added a video tag to an html page and included an mp4 file in the repo. I can view the video when I preview it on my local machine but when I publish the site, I get a 404 when I try to access the mp4 file. The documentation indicates that website supports "embedding images and other media." Are mp4 files supported? If not, what other file types are disallowed?

You should use plugin for embed videos or audio in your web page or use proper embed code to work well.

The problem isn't with the embed tag in the html page. The problem is with the resource itself. If I try to access the mp4 file directly by pasting the url in the address bar, I get a 404.
