Am I charged twice for the same user in two different workspaces?

Patrizio Bertoni February 25, 2021

Let's say my company has 10 Bitbucket users

  • workspace A has 8 users
  • workspace B has 6 users
  • intersection(A, B) has 4 users
  • union(A, B) has 10 users

Am I charged for 10 or 8+4 users?

Hi @Patrizio Bertoni ,

In Bitbucket Cloud, billing plans are associated with a workspace. If a certain workspace is on a paid plan, you'll get charged for each user in that workspace.

If you have two workspaces on a paid plan with 8 and 6 users respectively, you'll get charged for 8 and 6 users respectively for each workspace, so eventually for 14 users and not 10.

In order to avoid double billing for the same users, I would suggest using one workspace.
You can organise repos in the workspace in Projects.
In that workspace, you can create different User groups with Default Access: None, and then manually assign each user group to the repo(s) you want it to have access to.

If you have any other questions or need further guidance, please feel free to let us know.

Kind regards,
Theodora

@Patrizio Bertoni  the license is counted for 1 person =1 license

if two workspace share duplicate user then that will be counted as 1 license

So you confirm me that the final bill lists 10 users only
