Stopping Bamboo on Windows server

Kirsty Pollock December 8, 2011

I have Bamboo standalone installed, running as a service on Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard.

I am doing an upgrade (zip file), and need to stop Bamboo. I have stopped the service, but I still can't extract any files to the correct folders - I assume because something is still running.

The "StopBamboo.bat" script does not work (never has), and I can't find anything in the docs as to HOW to stop Bamboo...

Any hints appreciated

In the end, I disabled the service and rebooted tha machine... and used the msi.

If you have an antivirus program running, can you try stopping it?

In process manager, can you see any java processes that look like might be Bamboo? You could try killing them manually. If that works, please get back to us and we'll see if it can be fixed.

Already looked in Task manager, there is nothing obvious...

only Java process running is the update scheduler...

What about the antivir? Which files/directories cannot be updated? Maybe the user under which the service runs altered some file permissions?
