Running console throws System.IO.FileNotFoundException error

When I attempt to run my unit tests I get the following error:

System.IO.FileNotFoundException : Could not load file or assembly 'nunit.framework, Version=3.12.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=2638cd05610744eb' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.

I am able to run these tests in visual studio and I installed the Nunit Console so I am not sure why it is not finding the file. Below is my console command.

nunit3-console.exe "C:\Users\NUnitTestProject1\NUnitTestProject1.csproj"

Hi @Dominic Galasso

If I had to investigate this issue I would start with:

  1. checking the path configured for the nunit3 executable, in your server capabilities.
  2. checking if I could run the tests using a script task instead of the Test Runner task

The first one will tell us if there is a problem with the path. The second with check if there is an issue with permissions.

Please share your findings here.
