Hello, we are trying to upgrade from Bamboo 6.7.2 to 8.0.4 and running into the following error status screen when Bamboo Starts.
"Bamboo bootstrap failed: Failed to run H2 database upgrade. Please contact Atlassian Support"
We are self-support so we don't have the capability to open a ticket/case with Atlassian for help/support.
Can anyone recommend an upgrade path to take to successfully upgrade?
seeing every since and then reports about challenges with the integrated H2 databases I am wondering if it would make sense to migrate to a fully supported database prior to the upgrade.
The H2 database is mostly involved in trial/evaluation scenarios, this might be why it brings not the most perfect stability with it.
In case you are interested in changing databases I found some information here:

Where would I find the full exception log with the stack trace at?
Under /opt/bamboo_home/<bamboo_instance>/logs, if I look there under catalina.out and access_log I only see WARINGS and INFO entries. Nothing stands out.
thanks

it's usually at <bamboo_home>/logs. Another option is to export your instance to zip file, then use this file during setup.
As you use built-in H2 database to keep your data I hope count of plans/deployments/build results is not large so it will work for you.
