Export individual plans in Bamboo

Eduardo Mayor September 21, 2011

Hi there,

Is there a way to migrate individual plans in bamboo from one intance into another? I have a development instance of Bamboo 3.2 for testing new plugins and I'd like to copy plans that exist only in development into production without the hassle of creating them from scratch.

Thanks in advance,

Best

Hi Eduardo,

The "Move Plans" option from under Administration - > Plans will allow you to move a plan completely to a new or existing project within the same instance. But it's not a cloning option and you will lose the original plan.

To clone a plan and moving all the logs and histories to a different instance, there needs to be a partial export/import option. There is an open improvement request ticket for this feature: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/BAM-1223. Please add yourself to this ticket as a watcher, you can also vote or add comments.

When researching for this issue, I also came across the following and thought of sharing them with you in case you want to follow them:

1) Add functionality for transferring plans from one Bamboo instance to the other: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/BAM-12365

2) Clone Project: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/BAM-3188

3) Branches should be cloned when cloning a plan: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/BAM-11313

Hope this helps!

Thank you.

Best regards,

Sepideh
