Bamboo Data Center 8.1 is now available

G’day Bamboo customers,

Bamboo DC 8.1 is now available with it the following features and programs:

SAML 2.0, OpenID Connect, and Crowd SSO

In order to help admins with a simplified user management in Bamboo Data Center, we now provide support for SAML 2.0, OpenID Connect, and Crowd SSO right out of the box. All of these solutions integrate into the existing infrastructure, providing users with a more secure and efficient way to log in.

Supported identity management providers include Okta, OneLogin, Azure, Active Directory (ADFS), Bitium, and PingOne.

Bamboo Data Center Apps Program

With Bamboo 8.1 , we are officially launching DC Apps Program for Bamboo, so Bamboo apps can be approved for Data Center customers. As certification of the apps may take a while, Server apps will continue to run with Bamboo Data Center (UPM will warn about the incompatibility, yet the Server app will work). Read more here.

More feature parity between Java and YAML Bamboo Specs

Additional plan and deployments configuration can now be done with YAML Specs: other plugins, trigger repositories and trigger conditions, artifact handlers, and plan dependencies.

Other improvements include:

  • SSH key of the primary repository used to authenticate with the submodules
  • Bamboo Docker images with new Tomcat and database properties
  • Added support for the OpenSSH v1 key format and the ED25519 SSH key encryption algorithm
  • Added support for utf8mb4 character set encoding in MySQL

To find out more about the benefits of Bamboo Data Center 8.1 check out the release notes.

Please share your feedback!

We would love to get your feedback on these new improvements and learn how your organization plans to take advantage of them. Please share your stories, questions, and feedback with the Bamboo team below!

@Martyna Wojtas where can I find more info on how to integrate Bamboo Data Center with identity management providers? It seems like I need Atlassian Access, but that only talks about cloud solutions as far as I can see.
