đź“Ł Automation Rules List filtering is here!

Hey Automation Community đź‘‹

It’s now a whole lot easier to manage and find specific rules within your Rules List with the arrival of new filters! Available across Jira and Confluence automation, we’ve given the search and filtering experience a small but powerful upgrade. In addition to a refreshed look for the search bar and Scope filter, you can now also filter by the Automation Actions contained within a rule and any Labels that you’ve added.

When will it be available?
Starting today, we’ll be rolling out the new Rules List filters to all customers with general availability before the end of April 2024.

There’s more to come
In the coming weeks, we’ll be adding the ability to select multiple filter options on the Rules List filters. This will make it easier to find any rules that contain specific actions, e.g. “create issue” and “Edit comment”. We are also currently working on bringing filtering to the Audit Log to help make managing Automation easier - you can expect to see more on this in the next few months.

We want to hear from you
As always, we would love to hear your feedback. Please feel free to schedule a chat with us or leave a comment on below.

Nice addition! We are currently using labels or some rule naming patterns for this specific purpose but having this option as a filter in the rule list will definitely make our lives easier 🙌

Question - any plans on adding triggers as filter option as well?

Thanks to you and the team, @Simon Chan !

That is a very helpful improvement for finding rules.  I look forward to seeing any filtering options for the audit logs and other rule content / attributes: triggers, smart values referenced, etc.  And perhaps features to support automating documentation of rules in other tools like on Confluence pages :^)

Kind regards,
Bill

Hey @Tomislav Tobijas, That's great to here! We don't yet have plans on bringing the option to filter for rule triggers to the Rules List, but it will be coming to filters for the Audit Log.

That might be a nice advanced feature. But why is there so much inconsistency in the Atlassian products? In particular case of automation rules: where is the "usual" filter mechanism to filter by "owner" or "tag?
And why the hack can you only sort by date and and enabled but not by all others?

Please implement the necessary basics first before reaching for the stars.
