Hello - One suggestion that I have is that it would be great if we could alter the Team Name when creating a team to a synced group. In certain organizations, like mine, we create security groups that are easily identifiable for IT Administrators but don't translate on the front.
For example: SEC-GROUP-MARKETING-TEAM would be would administrators see but would translate to Marketing Team
I'm an administrator purist at heart so I would say the keys should be on the org admin. They are the ones to sync the group initially, they should handle the rename. In this scenario, the minute the Create Team button is clicked, it prompts what the name is going to be, at that time, I would set the name/rename. You already have built out majority of the functionality, just need to change the read only field to editable.
IMO, for these managed groups, it makes sense for it to be an admin function, rather than the team doing the rename.
For adhoc / unmanaged teams that are not linked then that's different.
I completely agree with @Dara Kordestani on this.
Only admins should be able to customize the name of a linked team. Ideally, this can be adjusted directly when the link is created.
Hey all @Dara Kordestani @James Rickards (Spark-Nel) @Nico Maikranz ,
Thank you for the feedback! We've taken your feedback onboard and are looking at implementing the ability to rename. We're building an MVP but it'll look like the following:
- You should be able to rename the team upon creation (i.e. when you connect Group to new Team)
- You should be able to rename the team in the team profile
- You should be able to visit the team profile and view the group that it's linked to
The ability to rename the team itself in adminhub will be coming later, this won't be a part of the core MVP.
I'll have timelines soon and will post about it when this becomes clearer. In the meantime, please let me know if you have anymore feedback!
