I just wanted to share my experience so far converting a table from the old editor to new editor in Confluence, I needed to do it because of requirement Yogi:

After converting, I get the following message:

Within the macro is a table which I need to copy out to fix this Problem.

But of course, ctrl+c and ctrl+v doesn't work, it doesn't work from old to new editor, it doesn't work within an editor, GLPI can do it a free open-source software, confluence which charges you an arm and a leg can't.

But alright let's google it.

I found this page:

https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Confluence-questions/How-do-I-copy-paste-a-table-in-Confluence-Cloud/qaq-p/719301

Apparently, YOU CAN ONLY COPY TABLES FROM PREVIEW MODE, not even from published sites.

And then I tried it:

Mmh that’s not my table, let's publish it:

Ok no publishing then, let's revert and try it again:

This time copying the text above with the table:

It actually worked this time, I still can't believe it, let' publish it:

Sigh I knew it, well alright next try, let's see the preview after copying the table:

I have a suspicion, that trying it later will resolve nothing. So, let's restart with a new plan:

I could:

  1. Copy the requirement yogi part out of the Table
  2. Transform the page but leave an old Preview open
  3. Copy the old Table and remove the transformed one
  4. Copy the transformed requirement yogi part in the copy of the old table

It actually worked, the page status doesn't work anymore but the table exists can be edited and requirement yogi works.

Just 200 Pages to go ...

Just to make it clear forcing your customers into worse products without a plan on how to migrate and letting your customers figuring it out themselves is a horrible way to go about it and i will never recommend any Atlassian Product going forward and will try to move any company that works with Atlassian away from their products.
