On-Prem to Cloud migration with user email domain change on Cloud in JIRA & Confluence

Dear Members,

I am doing a migration for a client from on-prem to cloud , during the migration user's email domain will change. They have a JumpCloud SSO on existing site.

Example : user@old_domain.com on premise shall be able to login using user@new_domain.com through JumpCloud SSO.

For JIRA : Shall I first do the migration with existing email to Cloud and then add the SSO config using these steps or the reverse way.

Please guide, if there's any sequence in these 2 steps.

The ultimate aim is users must be able to use same account and data when they start using new email through SSO JumpCloud.

Note: Only some projects will be migrated and users associated with those projects will be part of JumpCloud SSO with new domain.

Thanks

Hello @Mahaveer Prajapati

You will need to update the domain on the users prior to moving to the cloud. In order to change the domain, you will need to disconnect the current SSO on-prem.

Hope that helps!

Abe
