Endless emails, drafting docs, sharing work, creating complex tasks in Jira... we're all writing a LOT. regardless of your role. Writing takes time, mental energy, and creativity - and can be especially painful if you're not a natural born writer. Or if you haven't had enough coffee.
AI is gonna help that.
But first: Hi everyone! I'm Ethan Yew, a Product Manager for the Editing Platform. As you've likely been told many, many times, Atlassian is using generative AI to take our products to level 11.
Specifically, our goal with AI editing feature is tobhook you up with writing buddy. It can function as a 24/7 writing assistant, a stern editor, or your helpful pal jumping in for the last minute assist.
My announcement blog has all the details but I’ll TL;DR it for you here on the community:
Streamline your writing process + improve the quality of content:
Use it everywhere: Generate content across formats and styles (e.g. documentation, customer comms, tickets.)
Make it lit, make it hit: Analyze the context and audience of the content to help tailor your writing style so it lands better.
Brevity is beautiful: AI will suggest simpler language, find dupes, and help with structure and flow.
Peep the new features:
Easy linking: Reference other Confluence pages and Jira tickets in prompts to contextualize and connect related information.
New Action Panel: AI summary and action items panel is auto-generated. AI scans the content and suggests relevant summaries or action items as you update.
Language options: Translate content across 23 languages directly within Confluence. Currently in beta!
Many of the above features are cross-platform but here are a couple of cool product-specific features I wanted to highlight:
Confluence: Generate how-to articles, reports, campaign plans, or strategy pages quickly and efficiently with open field prompting.
Jira: Brainstorming edge cases and potential issues and dependencies to help you consider all possible scenarios and critical aspects of the project.
Bitbucket: Automatically generates clear and informative pull request descriptions and summarizes code changes.
Trello: Generating project ideas by analyzing existing boards, cards, and user inputs to suggest new project ideas and task suggestions.
Here at Atlassian, we use all of our own tools. So when we’re working on developing cool stuff, we’re making things that work for you AND for us. Hopefully our gen AI features are creating efficiencies in your workflow, helping you write “more good”, and freeing up time for big-brain work.
*if you picked up on the Daft Punk reference in the title, niiiiiiice.
