Atlassian Rovo requesting further permissions

Hi everyone,

our Sys Admin contacted me a couple of days ago, because Atlassian is requesting further/updated permissions for the Github integration. We use Atlassian's own Git App. Why post this in Atlassian Intelligence, you may ask?

The Developer not in the request said:
"We're updating permissions to enable new Atlassian Rovo functionality (...)"

Now I am wondering, if more Customers got this message or messages regarding other Integrations but mentioning Rovo?

My concern is, that a lot of Users and Admins will get confused over this... We are not part of any Beta Program and don't plan on using Rovo in the near future.

We have also received emails about the GitHub app Jira is requesting additional access.
To my knowledge this has not been prompted by any one specific user.

Hey @Rebekka Heilmann _viadee_ and @rune - According to this support.atlassian.com link, it looks like Atlassian is "updating permissions to enable new Atlassian Rovo functionality, and prepare for upcoming Github OAuth changes."

Additionally, according to the note on the page, "These updates are optional if you only use the Github for Jira app to link Github data to Jira (like PRs, commits, and branches)."

Hope that helps! :-)
