Jira Migration Assistant not compatible to Jira Server 8.16.0!?

Stefan March 31, 2021

Hi!

We plan to migrate our Jira Server version to the Cloud. Before we start the migration process we thought it is a godd idea to upgrade out version from 8.5.1 to the newest version. So we upgraded to 8.16.0.

Now we did find out, that the Jira Migration Assistant doesn't support this version (8.16.0). We were very surprised and are not really amused about that! We would like to start the Test Migration in the next week. We have the trial of Atlassian Access started and are going to configure SAML today.

When will the Jira Migration Assistant 8.16.0?

Regards
Stefan

Hi @Stefan ,

From this Supported version document: https://support.atlassian.com/migration/docs/supported-versions-for-the-jira-cloud-migration-assistant/, We understand that Jira Migration assistance should support all version above 7.6.0.

Can you share more info on where you are observing the Jira Migration Assistance is unsupported with 8.16.0?

Hi SriKumar,

we tried to migrate the users, that did work. We will continue in the next days.

Btw: In Administration -> Managing Apps (in German: Apps verwalten) it still says that the Jira Migration Assistant is "not compatible - updare requested".

Steffan
