Progress Reporting

Mari_WipfliMack January 24, 2025

Hello!

My organization is new to Atlas, and I am looking to find out how I can change the progress metric from showing as a percentage for my main objective (parent goal) to a $ similar to what I used for my key results (sub-goals). Right now the progress shows 2.7%/100% and I would like it to show a dollar amount.

Thanks!

Mari

Hi @Mari_WipfliMack and welcome to the Community!

I started playing around with progress metrics as well recently. From what I can tell, you only have 2 options when it comes to setting your parent goal metric:

  • either you set it automatically which automatically calculates an average progress percentage across all child goals. In this case, you can't set a different unit, it will always be a percentage.
  • or you can set the progress metric to manual. In that case you can set the unit to USD as per your example, but the downside is you need to manually update the progress every time.

I personally prefer the automatic update of parent progress. I tend to include the goal in the goal title or the description. If the goal title says something like "increase revenue by 20.000 USD", having an automatically calculated percentage (of that) at the parent progress level is quite clear.

Hope this helps!
