Hello :)
Can you give me advice on the following organization? The main objective is to monitor our primary goals and track the progress of related projects and tasks.
Overall Structure: Objectives, Projects (multiple projects may be related to one objective), and Tasks (linked to specific projects).
Tracking Main Objectives: We plan to use a Product Discovery table with an Atlas project status and an Atlas project goal.
Monitoring Project Progress: We plan to create dedicated projects on Atlas and ask the team to update them.
Tracking Task Progress: Where should we create such tasks? The goal is to monitor progress at the task level and reflect this progress within the Atlas project.
Thanks
Hello Jean-Bertrand!
It sounds like you're setting up a goal-tracking system for your organization. I'll offer some advice on your overall structure and tracking methods.
*Overall Structure:*
Your hierarchical structure (Objectives > Projects > Tasks) is a great approach. This will help you cascade your main objectives into smaller, manageable projects and tasks.
*Tracking Main Objectives:*
Using a Product Discovery table with Atlas project status and goals is a good start. Consider adding a column to track progress metrics (e.g., percentage complete, key performance indicators, or OKRs).
*Monitoring Project Progress:*
Creating dedicated projects on Atlas and asking the team to update them is a good approach. Ensure that each project has clear goals, timelines, and assigned team members.
*Tracking Task Progress:*
For task-level progress tracking, I recommend creating tasks within the respective Atlas projects. This will allow you to:
- Monitor task progress
- Reflect progress within the Atlas project
- Use Atlas's project management features to assign tasks, set deadlines, and track status
Additionally, consider implementing the following:
- Use a task status system (e.g., To-Do, In Progress, Done) to track progress
- Set up recurring team meetings to review project and task progress
- Establish clear communication channels for team members to report updates and challenges
By following this structure and tracking methodology, you'll be able to effectively monitor your main objectives, project progress, and task-level progress. Good luck with your organization's goal tracking! If you have further questions or need more guidance, feel free to ask!
