Sorry for this question, perhaps I'm getting old and I'm not seeing the "pencil icon" :), but, on the following screenshot, what does this pencil icon refers to :)

This one is on us, I can totally see how the message can be confusing. 

It should've come up when you added a Jira link to the "Where is work tracked?" section. If you hover over the link you'll see the pencil button appear. Click on it to sync your Atlas project with the Jira Epic.

I'll speak to the team to add something about hovering over the link to the message so it's clearer :)
