Atlas permissions - ability to create, edit and delete goals

Darrel Jackson August 12, 2024

I'm evaluating Atlas currently with the intention to provide a goal-tacking framework that links corporate strategy to business unit strategy to specific initiatives.

I've run into a wall regarding permissions. As far as I can tell, any Atlas user can create/edit/delete goals. Is my understanding correct?

I was hoping that there would be some controls around who can create/edit/delete goals vs. a regular user.

This is correct in my use of the tool.  It is very close to a BETA release in my opinion. Things that should be on the top of the priority list for devs in this app are:

  • Permissions (create/edit/delete)
  • API availability
  • Configuration (config time & duration for reminders on goals and project status updates

They seem to be moving Atlas into Jira also, so it'll become part of the core tool, not a separate app.

Thanks for confirming.

If we're putting together a list of gaps I'd also include the lack of Automation for Atlas. For example, when I create certain initiatives in Jira I'd like to automatically create an Atlas Project to track (or vice versa).

normally you need to create an automation or modify the project authorizations. You must also make sure that the project type is managed by the company.
